Cookies we set
Softentra uses cookies so you can stay signed in, keep items in your cart, and submit forms safely. These are strictly necessary and are never gated behind the cookie banner.
| Cookie | What it does | Type |
|---|---|---|
softentra-session |
Session cookie. Keeps you logged in, remembers your cart, coupon, and wallet-at-checkout choice, and holds flash messages after a form submission. Idle lifetime is 120 minutes unless you stay signed in. | Strictly necessary |
XSRF-TOKEN |
Security cookie. Lets checkout, add-to-cart, wishlist, login, contact, quotes, and reviews prove the request came from this site (including the AJAX add-to-cart buttons on cached product pages). | Strictly necessary |
| Remember-me cookie | Set only if you check “remember me” on login. Keeps the session alive across browser restarts so you do not have to sign in every visit. | Strictly necessary |
The knowledge base records “was this helpful” votes against your session so the same visit cannot stuff the vote count. That uses the session cookie above — not a separate cookie.
Analytics cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages get visited and how people find the store, so we know what to improve. These cookies are optional — they are set only after you click “Accept” on the cookie banner, never before.
| Cookie | What it does | Type |
|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google Analytics. Distinguishes your browser from others so page views and sessions aren’t double-counted. Lasts up to 2 years. | Analytics (optional) |
_ga_* |
Google Analytics. Tracks session state (when a visit starts/ends) for this specific property. Lasts up to 2 years. | Analytics (optional) |
Declining, or never clicking the banner, means these cookies are never set and no analytics script loads at all — not a reduced/anonymized version, none.
Checkout on Stripe
Paying with card sends you to Stripe Checkout. That page is not this site. Stripe may set its own cookies under its domain to complete payment. Its policies apply there; we only receive back whether the payment succeeded so we can issue your license.
Wallet-only checkouts that are fully covered by store credit never leave this site, so those extra cookies are not set.
Your cookie choice
The banner at the bottom of the screen lets you accept or decline analytics cookies. Strictly-necessary cookies (login, cart, checkout, form security) are never part of that choice — they are required for the store to function and are always on.
Your choice is remembered in your browser (not a cookie itself — it's kept in local storage) so the banner doesn't reappear on every visit. Clearing your browser's site data resets it, and you'll be asked again next visit.
Managing cookies
Your browser can block or delete cookies. If you block the session or CSRF cookie, you will not be able to log in, keep a cart, or complete checkout. Guest add-to-cart will also fail because those buttons need a fresh CSRF cookie before they submit.
Clearing cookies empties a guest cart. A signed-in cart lives in your session; signing out and clearing cookies has the same effect until you add items again.
Social links in the footer (including YouTube, Instagram, and GitHub) are ordinary links. We do not embed those networks on this page, so visiting the store does not set their cookies until you click through.
We may update this policy if the cookies this site uses change. Questions: Contact.
